借tijj大大的rearrangement 來講一下我的看法
我覺得這句話 並不難懂啊
Of all the great innovations, the railroad may well be the one historians
have allowed the most dramatic and far-reaching influence to.
這基本意思是你要先會看出to是由後面搬到which前面， 還原成上面句子後
就是"在很多偉大發明中，要讓歷史學家認同且選出最有影響力的或許就是鐵路的發明"
我們假設歷史學家們要頒發一個"最有影響力獎"給過去所有的發明中的其中一個發明，
那麼因為歷史上有很發明如電燈，望遠鏡，指南針等等，在這些發明中歷史學家們必須要
選出一個"讓"(allow)這個發明得到"最佳影響力獎" 在作者的觀點來看歷史學家們
經過討論後(也許經過很多評估後) 最後只能"讓"(allow)一個發明得獎，那這個發明就是
鐵路，
這句話的意思基本上就是這樣啊 很清楚啊 至於把allow 翻成 "給于/賦予"
那就比較是中文翻譯的問題，相較於allow使用，我覺得回歸原始意思就是"允許"
那不也就是"讓"的意思嗎? 這樣 照我上面的寫法 想一下 就通了 不是嗎?
至於用 accord 或allow 我覺得本質上並沒差，因為都是要agree才能accord
或是allow
重點在歷史學家們要"agree"說要把influence給誰。
至於是accord還是allow基本上都一樣。要agree才能
accord 或 allow。
