No, I don't agree that 'It is raining soon' falls in the gray area. I repeat.
It is incorrect, albeit an understandable utterance by some due to their
overgeneralization of the "present progressive for future" rule, analogous to
your overgeneralization of "the hell". My statement was made to follow your
own logic, as part of an argument to expose your double standard and mistake.
We have cited Copley (thanks to tijj) and Prodromou, whose publications
explicitly call out the sentence as anomalous/incorrect. Where are the academic
or professional references for your concocted notion?
