Not that Torre is worried. Wang went 8-5 with a 4.02 ERA in 18 games (17 starts) despite missing two months with right shoulder inflammation. Nonetheless, Torre said he was impressed with his "demeanor" in the pressure-packed atmosphere. He wasn't the only one. "He's done a great job, especially earlier in the year before he got hurt," Jeter said. "He was pitching as well as anyone we had. He came back and he's doing the same thing. He's fun to play behind because he throws a lot of strikes. "I've got a good team behind me and a lot of good players," Wang said yesterday, speaking English because the Yankees, oddly, did not supply a translator.
