一般來說,EMU500型的門連鎖開關(DIRS)跟自動門隔離開關(ZVRS,也叫零速度開關)
在很多正常狀況下會被隔離,尤其常見於出庫或始發站接車時。這是因為列車降弓後,只
要鑰匙拔出斷電,所有原先打開的車門都會自動關閉。有些人認為這樣要下車非常麻煩,
因為若不走駕駛室小門,就要去手動隔離某一個車門下車。因此他們有時會用這種方法,
使車門不會關閉。檢查員有時在庫內測試動力,也會將此二開關隔離。因此標準程序要求
司機員上車後啟動前,要看所有斷流開關及緊急處理開關是否在正常位,就是這個道理。
這兩個開關日常會用在萬一有車門無法連鎖或故障,造成列車不能出力,可應急使用。
