[分析] Construct R from Q by Dedekind cuts
本文中內容和符號是根據
Rudin,Principles of Mathematical Analysis,3rd edition
在Chapter 1的Appendix中，作者以(Dedekind)Cuts的方式定義R。
我困惑的地方在於:
Step 9中，有一句話是如此描述:
"It is this identification of Q with Q* which allows us to regard Q as
a subfield of R."
我目前理解的是:
(1)
R is an ordered field with least-upper-bound property.
(2)
Q* is a subfield of R,since every member of Q* is a cut .
(3)
Q* is isomorphic to Q.
我不解的是，在Theorem 1.19中，有定義subfield，
但R跟Q中order,addition,multiplication定義的方式完全不同，且R也不會包含Q
我猜想這段的意思是否是:
Since Q* is a subfield of R , there is another field F which is isomorphic to
R such that F contains Q as subfield.
我覺得作者弄得我好亂阿，我在想是不是我根本沒搞懂作者的意思，

感謝回覆，但我還是卡在"看成是"的這個部分。
我後來又仔細揣摩了這個部分，忽然想起來在Theorem 1.26好像也發生過類似的事情:
identify (a,0) with a , a is real , (a,0) is complex .
跟此處identify r* with r 有種異曲同工之感。
我質疑的是作者是否在subfield的定義說得太死了。

"雖然都寫成Q，但可能是在講Q，也可能是在講Q*"的意思?
