（我沒有完全照字面翻）. 當『被催眠的人』被告知自己是個聾子時，. 又被問到：你是否聽的見呢？. 『被催眠的人』回答：不，我聽不見。. （矛盾出現了，既然聽不到，怎麼可能會回覆？）. 有些學者試著解釋這種結果，. 他們主張，『被催眠的人』會腦袋會分離成兩個部份--耳聾和回覆. 且這兩個部份彼此沒有關
