問了一下公司的寫作專家 (English native speaker)
他表示有兩種說法:
片語: to fish for compliments
原po (1)的例句就可以用此片語.
He kept saying he is fat and ugly just to fish for compliments.
形容詞: passive-aggressive
definition:
1. describes a personality type or way of behaving that seeks to manipulate
others indirectly and resist their demands rather than confronting or
opposing directly
2. anyone who does one thing when, really, their goal is something else -
but they're unwilling to confront the real problem, and try to subvert it
