這裡只是用了關係代名詞當作連接詞
連接了三個句子
要了解就是把三個句子拆開
再把它們併起來
多做幾次就會懂了!
1. There was a crash.
2. The crash chilled the hearts of those people.
3. Those people were there.
要用關係代名詞合併，先找兩句有相同的字，1,2句相同的字是 a crash
所以就把第2句的the crash改成關代 that(=which)變成:
that chilled the hearts of those people
然後關代要擺在他代替的字(先行詞後面)，所以兩句就變成
There was a crash that chilled the hearts of those people.
然後再跟第三句合併，兩句相同的字是 those people
所以就把第三句的those people用who 來代替就變成 :
who were there
然後關代who要擺在它代替的字(those people)後面
所以全句就變成了:
There was a crash that chilled the hearts of those who were there.
到這裡，應該了解句子的結構了
但是可能還是看不太懂意思
因為關係子句是修飾前面的字
所以翻譯要從後面翻過來
those who were there要翻成"在哪裡的"那些人
a crash that chilled the hearts of those people 要翻成 :
"使那些人不寒而慄的"車禍(空難)，所以這一句是形容詞子句喔!
至於 There was a crash. 是國中的句子
老師說它的be動詞要看後面的字決定， a crash是單數，所以用was
原句其實是 A crash was there. 倒裝之後，要用關代連接比較方便容易...
