[創作] A Vision
Here did Faith and Love reside
In a Hall that shone in gold;
Love hid Faith deeply inside
Her pure chastity to hold.
On the very blessed day,
They tied the marital knot;
Sang the Angels fair and gay
Praising God's sacred plot.
While in the accursed night,
Faith unfolded her virgin's veil,
And her flesh glowing in white
Her dear husband's face did pale.
Aghast in trembling fear,
Love retreated from his fair bride,
What male might he failed to rear?
What pleasure was then denied?
For the following decade,
Faith pleased Love in daylight,
While the Bed of Joy void stayed
In the long and dreary night.
And Love is content in heart,
For fleshless love he did prize;
He proudly deemed his flawed part
A true blessing in disguise!
But desperately in want,
Faith was ailed by dark desire;
Fancies stirred her heart vacant
Of the unnamable fire.
On a routine day of bore,
When her Love was out of sight,
A man called Lust breached the door
Seizing Faith in sudden fright.
On the bed untended for years,
She was held in Lust's embrace;
Rosy buds scattered with tears,
As expired her divine grace.
But desire seemed to prevail,
As her flesh began to fight
The will that bade her to wail
For this dark delightful plight!
Aghast in trembling rage,
Her Love from some clime afar
Stormed into his golden cage
To seize who did his name mar.
While lost of his manlike might,
Smitten was he by the rake,
And bound before the dire sight
Of Faith on her shameful stake.
Suddenly he stroke to know
'Tis not a stake of her shame;
"Open thy blind eyes and lo!
What joy burnt in the lustful flame!"
So Love dropped his head to weep,
For ne'er and ne'er had he seen
His wife in such pleasure deep
And so fair as never been.
So did Lust with joy depart;
Love could never love remain,
And Faith was faithful in vain,
When desire left human heart.
