神經的axon外面包著髓鞘。

1.如果axon斷掉，髓鞘沒斷。

則axon可以沿著髓鞘長回去，每月3公分。
(遠端的axon就掛掉了，長回去是從近端長到最遠端，而不是接上之前斷掉的部份。)
2.如果axon沒斷，髓鞘斷了。

神經的傳導可能會有些問題，過一段時間後髓鞘也會修復。

能修復的機率就很小，距離越長機會越低。
而且神經有tension，一斷掉就向兩邊彈開，中間gap會變大。
顯微手術的目的把3修回接近1的狀態。
