Under the Lorentz gauge, the scalar potential obeys the inhomogeneous wave equ
ation with the charge density as the source. Similarly, the vector potential a
lso obeys the same equation with the current density as the source.
Applying the partial time derivative on the above scalar potential inhomogeneo
us wave equation and the divergence operator on the vector potential one, the
continuity equation will be derived with the Lorentz gauge condition.
