我覺得有時候Editor也是關鍵，我也來分享一下我的前兩篇被要求revision後被reject的
經驗。
Paper #1
第一審的Reviewer #1: The article was well written.
然後後面給4點小建議。
第一審的Reviewer #2: It was interesting article and generally well written.
然後給一些格式修改建議。
看到這樣的comment，我和當時的老闆都想說是勝券在握了。
結果二審回來，換兩個不同的reviewers
第二審的Reviewer #4(沒錯，是第四位審稿者，不知道是不是找不到第三位審稿者，亦或
是第三位審稿者是editor):I have three major comments considering the methodology
第二審的Reviewer #5: This paper reports the results of an interesting study
and provides information that could be relevant to the subject of ....research.
The authors have made most of the improvements suggested by previous reviewers.
Editor最後決定REJECT: Based on the advice received, I have decided that your
manuscript cannot be accepted for publication in....
Although the reviewer acknowledged the efforts spent on improving the
manuscript, there are still serious doubts connected with the actual samll
sample size.
這時我深深的覺得，為什麼不在第一審就給我reject，或者告知我的sample size太小。
Editor應該只是純粹想要找人呼應他的想法吧。
不過後來加大sample size後，改投其他期刊就很順利在一個半月內刊登了。
Paper #2
第一審的Reviewer #1: The manuscript provides an illustration of the psycho-
metric challenges associated with...The study also contributes to the body of
research...The limitations related to the sample were clearly acknowledged in
the manuscript. The write up is exceptional; the methods and statistics are
reported in detail, and results are reported with an appropriate level of
caution...
然後只提了一個標示錯誤的地方。
第一審的Reviewer #2: Interesting study. The statistics appear to be strong,
perhaps stronger than what is needed for the readers of this journal.
然後提了5個問題。
Editor一開始給了Major revision，不過看到Reviewer#2的建議，大概就知道狀況不是
很妙。
果然，大修回去後，Editor沒有送外審，而是花了兩個月的時間在他手上，
最後Editor說：The re-review of your manuscript has been completed, and I regret
to inform you that the manuscript was not accepted for publication. This paper
has been in review for a long time and the decision not to publish it has been
a difficult one.
然後建議我們丟到一個和我主題完全沒關的journal去。。。
(看來Editor是看不懂我們寫的東西)
不過這篇後來掙扎了幾次後，丟到一個IF比原本還高的期刊去並且被接受了。
話說，我還有一篇被外審了四個reviewers。前面三個的意見都超正向：
Reviewer #1: This manuscript is interesting and is in general well written. The
comprehension of the text in general good. The data analysis procedures seem
appropriate to the objectives of the study.
Reviewer #2: Well written and concise.
Reviewer #3: I would like to thank the authors and the editor for allowing me
to review this paper. The authors have done a commendable job in explaining
the methods and provided clear and practical clinical implications.
最後第四個Reviewer提出一個我們研究應該要事先驗證的步驟，所以認為我們的研究不行
Editor最後採用第四個Reviewer的意見就拒稿了。
但是！
那個驗證步驟在我們上一篇paper就驗證過了，而且我們也有在被拒稿的內容中提到和引用。
所以現在這篇還在努力中。
結論就是，Editor的喜好還是比較重要的。
