Ristocetin cofactor activity (Rco)
This assay is important in the diagnosis of VWD. It determines
the plasma VWF dependent agglutination using a standardized platelet
preparation of either freeze-dried platelets or platelets fixed with
formalin or para-formaldehyde. It is a measure of aggregation of
washed platelets mixed with the patient's plasma upon addition of
ristocetin.
Ristocetin Induced Platelet Agglutination (RIPA)
RIPA involves addition of ristocetin to platelet-rich plasma and
measuring platelet agglutination. It is an overall assay of the
Ristocetin induced agglutination the patient's own platelets and plasma.
比較
Rco Use various conc. of pts plasmas to formalin fixed plts. & fixed
conc. ristocetin and observe agglutination
RIPA Same as above, except use pts platelets (binding pts vWF) in
varying conc. ristocetin
