Topic: We may hear smokers insisting that they have a right to smoke wherever they choose, including public places such as restaurant, halls, and offices. On the other hand, we are constantly reminded that secondary smoke is harmful to our health. Hence the appeal to restrict smoking in public places. Tell which side you agree and why. I insist that people shouldn't smoke in public places. Although everyone has his or her rights of freedom to do everything they want, meanwhile, they can't intrude on others' freedom. When people smoke in public places, their secondary smoke will ruin others' health and make others feel uncomfortable. What's more, the secondary smoke is poisonous than the one made directly by the cigarette because secondary smoke bring bad substances in the smokers out so that it harms others seriously. Maybe smokers don't notice the disgusting smelling of the smoke made by them, but people in their surroundings are suffered from the smell and poisonous substances. So, if you smoke in public places, you offend others' rights. On the other word, everyone has no right to smoke in public places. To sum up, the one smoking in public places is transgressing his right of freedom. In fact, not everyone has morality not smoking in public places, so it is necessary to pose a ban to restrict smokers from smoking in public places. It is everyone's obligation to sustain a clean and comfortable public area. Just as being quiet in the library and lining before getting on bus, we should respect others. People are social animals, so it is important to get along with each other well. The ban is meant to remind some smokers and to protect others health and rights. If there is no ban to restrict smokers in public places, someone may quarrel with them when he or she restricts them from smelling. Smoking has a negative influence on one's health. The poisonous substances will case respiratory diseases and result in lung cancer. Therefore, for our own health, we shouldn't smoke whether there is a non-smoking ban or not. chichienyu770919@yahoo.com.tw -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 202.178.238.160
