The 33-year-old veteran shortstop split 2016 between Atlanta and Detroit, spen ding most of that time at his career home of shortstop but also filling in a s econd and third base. A career .273/.314/.373 hitter, he has showed signs of h is age with a decline in both power and speed in recent seasons. Still, his gl ove rated near league average and a veteran presence may be useful around a re latively young infield.
