不用卵子也能繁衍後代 科學家首度證實

如水是濕的、地球是圓的、精卵結合才能繁衍後代等。人們後來發現,最後1項或許不是
真的。
法新社報導,科學家今天宣布,他們藉由讓老鼠精子和1種不是卵子的細胞結合後,成功
製造出小老鼠。
英國和德國研究人員在發表於「自然通訊」(Nature Communications)的報告中說,存
活下來的小老鼠都很健康,擁有正常壽命,也能透過傳統方式繁殖。
英國巴斯大學(University of Bath)研究人員裴利(Tony Perry )說:「過去認為,
只有卵子細胞才能與精子結合,讓胚胎發育。」
裴利說:「我們的研究挑戰了既有法則,自早期胚胎學家約於1827年首度觀察哺乳動物的
卵子,並於50年後觀察受精作用以來,都認為只有卵子細胞能與精子細胞結合,進而繁衍
後代。 」
科學家利用1種稱為parthenogenote的有絲分裂細胞,取代減數分裂的卵細胞來繁殖小老
鼠。
他們在parthenogenote分裂成兩個細胞前注射精細胞核,使其受精。
英國廣播公司(BBC)報導,在這項老鼠實驗中,成功懷孕的機率為1/4。
裴利說:「這是科學家首度證實卵子以外的細胞也能與精子結合,繁衍出後代。」
他說:「這扭轉了近200年來的想法。」
