問：有任何把冰與火之歌拍成電影或電視影集的計畫嗎？
A: Not at present. Anything is possible, of course, but the sheer size and
complexity of the books would make them very difficult to film. Peter Jackson
is doing an astonishing job of bringing Tolkien's trilogy to the film, but
he's needed three movies to do so. All three volumes of LORD OF THE RINGS put
together are about as long as A STORM OF SWORDS. By that standard, it would
require nine films just to cover the three books I've published so far, and
probably nine more for the rest of the series. No studio is ever going to
commit to eighteen films. A more feasible approach might be to shoot the
series as a television miniseries, but it would need to be a long miniseries,
along the lines of ROOTS and SHOGUN, and the networks seldom produce series
of that length these days. So I think the chances for a film or TV series are
slim. Sorry.
作者：現在沒有。雖然啥都有可能發生，但是書本要命的厚度跟要命的複雜劇情很難
讓人拍成電影。Peter Jackson把Tolkien的三部曲拍成電影實在令人讚嘆，但是他也
得要拍成三片才能消化這些劇情。三部「魔戒」的劇情加起來才是一部STORM OF
SWORD的內容。所以說我們需要九部電影才能拍到我目前的寫作進度，也許還要另外
九部來拍我還沒寫出來的。沒有製片公司搞過這種事情。
另一種比較有彈性的作法是做成電視影集，但這也會是部超長的影集（下面一句不會
翻），所以我想做成電影或影集的機會都不高，抱歉。
