of course, from the dictionary website u gave, both words have the meaning of "inadequate". what i meant was, however, "deficient" has the meaning of "lacking". but what Sampragassi was trying to say was just that it is "not enough" to just study textbooks/magazines, which is why i think the use of "insufficient" is good enough here. anyway, if u replace "insufficient" with "deficient", the sentence becomes "I think it's deficient to study the English textbook or magazines..." and this really sounds weird to me. anybody plz feel free to correct me if i got it wrong. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 219.74.143.252
