[文法] 幾句英文文法/語意

念書時的英文教材Word Power Made Easy一直都沒有好好念連考試也都考了好幾次才過最近下定決心重新拿起打算好好念一遍但有諸多文法/語意憑我這弱弱的英文程度實在是難以理解所以請教一下版上各位高手 1. You prefer solitude or at most the company to the one person to a crowd. ￣￣￣￣￣￣這邊的prefer跟後面不加to be有什麼不一樣嗎? 或是有某種強調或弱化前後的作用? 另外一般來說at most意思不是最多嗎? 譬如I'll pay 200 dollar for the chair at most. 但感覺上這邊的at most應該不是這種意思在這句上該做何解釋比較好呢? 2.You're quite normal—in the sense that your personality is like that of most people. ￣￣￣為何這裡要加個that of? 與like most people語意上有什麼不一樣呢? 3.So now you have a carefully constructed defense against ￣￣￣ further hurt—you hate all women 這裡的against前面是否該加to? 加與不加的差異在? 以上問題還請各位高手幫忙謝謝 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 61.230.121.84 ※ 文章網址: https://www.ptt.cc/bbs/Eng-Class/M.1532267014.A.92D.html
