[文法] 一個長句前半部有兩個動詞的疑惑
The forward written by Professor Smith states the book is the 5th in a series
↑ ↑
of studies and was the result of identification and analysis of three key
crises in the development syndrome that have always historically appeared.
淺見：我知道「written by Professor Smith」是省略動詞的形容詞子句，作修飾語。
所修飾的主詞應該是The forward這個形容詞（因為省略名詞），主動詞是state。
可是為何後面又接一個動詞is呢？難道state後面的the book是名詞子句中的主詞？
以上困惑之處，懇請文法高手解析。謝謝啊....
試譯：由Smith教授所寫的前者，陳述說這本書是一系列研究叢書的第五本....
....
是這個意思嗎？
