It's as simple as this:
throw "he" into the sentence. if it sounds correct, use "I".
throw "him" into the sentence. if it sounds correct, use "me".
Thus,
since "My brother is taller than him" sounds more natural
than "My brother is taller than he"
--> "My brother is taller than me" is correct...
this boils down to subject/object reference if you wanted to
dig deep, but this simple rule would help a lot esp in
intermediate learners...
