I use an IDE adaptor for that - and *expect* errors when I am putting
an OS onto a CF. They have very slow write cycle times,
(and a finite lifetime of writes - best mounted 'noatime')
But I presume yours is an empty socket at this time?

Above, ata1 master.

OK - w/o media they should be skipped, just as an unconnected cable

I would start by disconnecting everything not essential,
see if the problem goes away - or at least changes...
