After months of speculation, rumors and hype, we’ll finally find out tonight
where LeBron James is going – or staying – during a one-hour special titled
“The Decision” on ESPN.

The growing sentiment among the people in the know — or people who claim they
’re in the know – is that James will join Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with
the Miami Heat to form an NBA super group.

I don’t know if that’s true, but I do know this much: Going to Miami would
be the worst possible decision James could make.

The main reason he is considering leaving his hometown team, the Cleveland
Cavaliers, is his legacy. Although he’s just 25, James doesn’t want be 30
or 31 – what he will be at the end of whatever contract he signs this summer
– still without a championship ring.

Playing with Wade and Bosh certainly would improve his chances of winning a

Like most great athletes, James has a huge ego. He doesn’t want to be

Then there’s this to consider for James: What if the super trio doesn’t win
a title in the next couple of years? Remember, super groups don’t always

Even though having three perennial All-Stars would give the Heat a great
chance of winning, it would be far from a lock.

to take a little money than maximum deals. But that would leave the Heat with
just four or five players on the roster and it could only offer
