小弟的想法，講錯請指教，感謝!
prefer的用法大抵有兩種
1. prefer N(a) to N(b)
較喜歡A而不是B
這時的to是介系詞(所以後面才可以加名詞)
同理名詞可替換為動名詞(Ving)變為prefer Ving(a) to Ving(b)
故join原形動詞當然不行
2.prefer to V(a) rather than + V(b) /instead of+ving
這時候的to為不定詞，與"want to" "decide to"為相同的邏輯
假如今天選項是prefer to+原V 那麼就對了!
接下來是would rather+原V(a) than 原V(b) 寧願做a而不是b
也可寫為would+原V(a) rather than 原V(b)
應該不難理解助動詞would後面可以加原形
