雖不如悲觀人士所說的悲慘 但復興英國經濟仍待長期努力
據稱前美國總統雷根曾說過：「英語中最嚇人的九個字是:
『我是從政府來幫忙的 (I'm from the government and I'm here to help)』
。英國首相戈登布朗應該沒聽進去。布朗於九月二日揭露的一項方案，
預計提撥約160萬英鎊的預算協助購屋新手、小額房地產買家、
以及有房貸困難的屋主，期使市值四億英鎊而目前陷入困境的英國房市
能「繼續前行」。這無疑是做做門面而已。此方案雖立意良好
(如協助民眾房產免於遭銀行扣押)，但也將造成負面效應
(誘使新手在空頭時進場)。不過整體而言，該方案造成的影響將十分微小。
