先說我不是高手 我是鄉民:p
首先a wide range並不是廣泛範圍的意思喲...
a wide range of= a variety of
也就是說這項科技是讓不同波長的光皆能折射
如此才能達到完全隱形的效果
另外就是stealth的翻譯 在討論軍武的時候
一般都是翻成隱形或隱密 (像stealth bomber就是隱形轟炸機)
因為它是指能從敵人偵測範圍內消失(像雷達)
而不是強調性能或裝備本身的秘密性質...
stealth operation指的是不與敵人正面交戰而深入敵境
像之前媒體討論的黑蝙蝠中隊就是從事這類的隱密情蒐任務
當然隱密行動(或稱潛入行動)也包括積極的內部擾亂與破壞...
原文有提到坦克 指的應該就是利用這種光學迷彩
直接將坦克送進敵陣進行砲擊XD
(攻殼車的時代不遠了嗎!?!?)

: Scientists in the US say they are a step closer to developing materials that could render people invisible.
