The period P of the small oscillations of a simple pendulum
is related to the length L of the pendulum by the equation
T = 2π√L/g
where g is the constant acceleration of gravity.
Shoe that a small change dL in the length of a pendulum produces
a change dP in the period that satisfies the equation
dP 1 dL

P 2 L .
