[問題] a pair of 視為複數或單數?
(1) http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/youmeus/learnit/learnitv163.s
html
(a) I took a pair of shorts out of the drawer and put them in my suitcase.
(b) I had a pair of field-glasses in my cupboard so I gave them to Tom for
birdwatching.
(2) http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=42009
There was a pair of shoes on the bed, but now they are under the desk.
且認為用it is under the desk是很不自然的說法,因這裡不是在強調a pair件數,
The pair of jeans is so expensive that Jeff doesn't have enough money for it.
The pair of jeans is so expensive that Jeff doesn't
have enough money for them.
用them來代替the jeans?
The pair of shoes is so small that I can't wear it/them.
