1.第一題你確定 be sure they are your own 後面沒有加逗號什麼的嗎?
因為如果你沒有少打字或標點符號
整體上根本連不起來
comeing out 在這裡可以翻做"出自"或"來自"
故(D)的答案不正確,因為出自哪裡用的是from,而不是to
如果(D)的答案改成 comeing out directly from your mind 就沒有問題
2.escaping 這裡可翻成(不斷洩漏出來)的ammonia
escaping形容當下漏出的氣體,強調的氣體洩出當下,會使水結凍
而escaped則特別指已經漏出的氣體,若氣體都漏光了,怎麼還能讓水結凍呢?
至於翻譯得視情況來翻
舉例來說,越獄成功的逃犯,我們可以稱之為 escaped prisoner
我們卻不能說成洩露出來的逃犯
3.我無法用文法跟你解釋這一題
但我可以用意思來解釋
題目是說某某城鎮(或村落)在某某年所建 ______讓它成為某某處最老的村落
(A)however 然而 語意不通
(B)and 還有/而且 語意不通
(C)thus 因此 很通順吧
(D)when 當時/那時 語意不通
4.take本身就含有打擊跟侵襲的意思,故這題跟被動無關
而是take這個字眼本身就是正確用字,這裡用took是因為過去式
比方說我趁人不注意撂倒一個人,我也可以這樣用: I took him by surprise
疾病漫延地區也可以用take
by surprise 的意思是令人感到意外/措手不及
故全句可翻成:
這場颶風來勢洶洶,讓佛州沿海社區措手不及
5. 我無法回答你,因為我文法很差
我只覺得用 and left或leaving念起來比較順
