-- fnvRFbWaX0U Scott is practicing the front quadrant freestyle promoted byfnvRFbWaX0U Richard Quick. This technique emphasizes on posture, line, and balance. Instead of concentrating on pulling the hand to send the body forward, the swimmer manipulates with the arm balance and sends the body forward with the power from the body rotation. Notice Scott stays in streamline and patiently moves his balance of recovering arm over the top to the front. Then he sets the anchor with the pulling hand and rotates over the anchor point to send the body forward in stream line. Instead of pulling the hand backward, he presses the anchor hand downward, connects the anchor arm with the muscles on the back and torso, and uses the power of the large muscles to sends the body forward. The result is a powerful stroke with an armful of water in the front and the power applied from the back and torso. Think about how you do pull ups. Instead of pulling purely with your arm, you tighten your torso and connect the torso with the larger back and chest muscles to send your body upword from your torso. The baseball player has discovered the secrets of power of body rotation a long time ago. Many of the top swimmers in world have been applying the power of body rotation unknowingly for years and the swimming world has been adopting this power in the recent years. -- How to Swim Faster Freestyle with High Legs and Low Drag http://youtu.be/oW5nE5FBPsQ
1:22 center of buoyancy 3:19 How to shift the center of buoyancy to the center of gravity 6:02 practice -- http://www.feelforthewater.com/2013/08/annies-tips-for-your-kick.html There's no magic to kick efficiently, it is actually really easy when you know how! Studies into Ian Thorpe’s leg kick showed that even he could only generate about 10-15% propulsion from it (with super flexible size 17 feet!), the vast majority of his propulsion was from his upper body. Pool sprint swimmers may wish to develop a strong leg kick but for the majority of people doing triathlon or long distance and open water swimming, you should be looking to minimise your energy expenditure from your leg kick. You are just using it to keep your legs high to reduce drag. ※ 編輯: opgy (118.168.238.65), 07/03/2015 02:34:03
