斗膽借原PO和前輩的標題內容請教一下大家，這是其中一個教授回我的信: Dear bbagels: Thank-you for your inquiry regarding a graduate position in my lab. Your background and experience is certainly relevant to the work we are doing and I would like to consider your application. However, finances are an issue and I'm not sure that I can take a student at this time. Do you intend to start in January 2015? I have a grant pending and will know later in the spring whether or not I will get it. If I am successful I could take a student in May or Sept 2015. Please do let me know what your plans are - XXX 這樣子算是客套話還是說真的有興趣呢? 因為簽證的關係我已經回覆他會考慮defer到Fall 他接著回我: Once I'm sure of the status of my funding I will be happy to assess and consider your application. If you intend to defer your acceptance until September 2015 then this will certainly simplify matters.
