My tears began to tremble and crumble,
Seeping out of the chapped windowpanes
Through which hardly could I
Withhold the finale of a requiem
For the game of chess we no longer played.
Crossing the shaky trestle as flabby
As my fragmented heart and soul,
I dared not to turn back but
Stepped onward and downward
To an abyss even He feared to fathom.
Hearkening to the drums reverberating
Through the land of broken faith,
Fondly I laid my lament and regret
Under a swath of ever migrating dune
And I sealed them with smiles
And went for another miles.
