vision的概念從中世紀就開始出現。
中世紀的人們由於有虔誠的信仰（異教或基督教），
他們相信人的靈魂可以看見超越現實的東西，
Blake他的詩作其實有透露出他似乎擁有visionary的能力，
因為他有致力探討evil與goodness的概念，
此外，Blake的版畫也具有某種visionary的特質。
