but I totally agree with Fermi's statement
the arbitary parameters in a theory is an indication our ignorance
of the actual picture
that is one of the reason why the standard model is thought to be
merely a low energy approximation with twenty unexplainable parameters
which poses the fine tunning problem
Even theories beyond the standard model such as supersymmetry (which have over
one hundred undecided parameters in the symmetry breaking term ) is considered
incomplete unless there is a consistent explanation for these values .
