Bang 第二版規則 patch
1. Play moves clockwise around the table.
The direction in which the game flows in BANG! does not have a particular
importance; in the first edition of the game, the choice fell on the
counter-clockwise one, since this is the most common direction used in the
folkloristic Italian card games (such as Tressette, or Briscola), that are
well known in each corner of our country. However, given the terrific success
of the game worldwide, we decided to adopt the most common direction used all
over the world, which is clockwise. Despite the change, you can still choose
your preferred playing direction before starting the game: be careful though
on changing accordingly also the direction by which some cards are played,
e.g. Dynamite.
1. 玩家依順時針方向開始玩。
Bang! 的遊戲方向其實並不太重要。於是第一版中,我們選擇了逆時針方向,因為它是
許多傳統紙牌遊戲的方向。但是,由於Bang! 在世界上大受歡迎,我們決定要採用世界
上用得比較多的方向,也就是順時針。不管這個改變的話,也可以選擇以逆時針進行這
個遊戲,但是要記得如炸彈之類的牌傳遞順序的方向也要跟著改。
(反正就是要一樣就對了啦)
2. The Sheriff plays with one additional bullet.
The Sheriff begins and plays the game with one additional bullet. Apart from
the classic western movie gimmick, of the tin star taking a bullet for the
Sheriff, the change is mainly due to keep the sides in play balanced,
following the other main change in the ruling of the Jail. Since it is obvious
that the Jail is a card in the Sheriff’s favour (it cannot be played against
him!), the change resulted in a weakening of the “good” forces. Furthermore,
it must be considered that the Sheriff is always a clear and well-identified
target; the Jail modification was a potential threat for the white hats: an
intensive and long play-test confirmed the initial feeling of balancing the
game by giving one extra bullet to the Sheriff, and the change was approved.
2. 警長多一格HP
警長在遊戲一開始時多一格HP。和一般西部電影中要拿走警長一顆子彈不同,這個改變
主要是和下面對監獄的改變來平衡遊戲。由於監獄是屬於警長方的道具(它不能被用在
警長上),下面那個改變會削弱「警方」的力量。另外,考慮到警長是一個清楚的目標
,監獄的修改會成為「警方」的隱藏威脅。因此,在許多遊戲中確認警長多一格HP能夠
平衡遊戲之後,這個改變被確認可行。
3. Some cards change from must play to may play.
Due to an error in the first edition of the game, Duel and Injuns! forced the
players to play cards from their hands. The new rules reflect what the initial
ruling was supposed to be: each time a player is asked to play a card, he can
always choose between playing the card and suffering any effect from not
playing it. This way, the players do not need to check the cards in a
player's hand to verify if he has or does not have a particular card.
3. 有些卡片的效果從必須出牌改成可以出牌。
第一版中的文字錯誤,使得決鬥和Indians!這兩張牌變成一定要出牌對抗。新規則改回
原本希望的意義:每一次當有要求要出牌時,可以選擇要出牌而躲過傷害,或不要出牌
而遭受傷害。如此的話,就不用攤牌檢查是不是有這張牌。
4. The Jail has a new ruling.
The new rule for the Jail is probably the most interesting change. The Jail
is indeed a very powerful and delicate card. To experienced players, this
card is clearly a way to get to the victory quickly; moreover, always
considering the experienced player's point of view, the Jail is a great
target for cards such as Mistress or Panic!, once you've called 'friend'
that imprisoned cow-boy.
However, for the majority of players new to the game, these tricks are not
immediately usable, and there was a big risk that a player could sleep many
nights in Jail, leading to a poor experience of the great fun that the game
is supposed to deliver.
To escape from Jail now players need to draw necessarily a Heart card (no
longer Heart or Diamond): however, whether the draw is successful or not, the
Jail is discarded. Therefore, if the draw was not successful, the player only
skips one turn.
One turn in BANG! is a precious and important moment in the game flow: this
new rule for the Jail is aimed at making players play and enjoy the game more,
without actually harming the statistical aspect of it (75% of spending one
single turn in Jail, versus the 50% of the first edition, that could actually
be counted like one red card out of two cards drawn).
Following this change, the Sheriff was given an additional bullet.
4. 監獄牌有新規則
對監獄的改變是改版中很有趣的一部份。在舊規則中,監獄這張牌的確很威。在老手眼
中,這張卡的確是一個通往勝利的捷徑;而且,以老手的觀點來看,被監獄關著的人容
易成為Cat Balou 或是Panic!的目標。
但是,對遊戲的主要目標而言,這些小技巧不一定能馬上使用。而且有一個風險是他可
能會被關很久,這樣會失去參與遊戲的感覺。
於是現在監獄的規則改成出獄必須抽到紅心(而不是原先的紅心或方塊);但是,無論
成功與否,監獄牌會被棄掉。也就是說,如果沒抽中,被關的人只跳過一個回合。
Bang! 中的一回合是很重要的;這個新規則旨在使玩家玩很更高興,而且統計上幾乎沒
有削弱掉它的效果(75%的機會只跳過一回合,和原先的50%的機會出獄)。
為了平衡這個改變,警長會多一格HP。
5. Kit Carlson plays with four life points.
Generally speaking, the characters with only three life points have special
defending abilities, and their lower stamina is reasonable. While Kit Carlson
may choose the two cards to draw, he has a very tight hand size limit, due to
the number of his life points. Moreover, when it's not his turn, he remains
a valid and easy target to shoot at, unless he keeps drawing defending cards
such as Missed!, thus altering his natural play. Last, but not least, his
ability is really hated by the player who follows, especially when he is
Jailed, or a Dynamite is flying around: this makes Kit Carlson a good target
to shoot at, without having any ability to resist. The fourth life point makes
this character stronger out of his turn, and allows the player to play a more
flexible strategy.
5. Kit Carlson改成四格HP
總的來說,三格HP的角色通常都有很強的防禦能力,所以三格HP很正常。Kit Carlson
可以抽牌時選兩張牌,所以他的手牌張數受限於他的HP值會變少。而如果沒輪到他時,
他會成為一個很好打的目標,除非他選的是像Missed這種防禦卡,讓他的策略受限。最
後但不是最壞的,他的能力通常會被厭惡,尤其是當他被監獄關起來或是有炸彈在傳的
時候;這讓Kit Carlson 變成一個標靶,而他本身卻沒什麼力量可以擋。第四格HP可以
讓他在不是他的回合時強一點,讓抽到他的玩家可以有更多策略。
6. Sid Ketchum's special ability is now "Discard two cards to regain one
life point".
Sid Ketchum is a very strong character in the long run, and his ability was
trimmed to be used for a player to think ahead. As the game diffused very
quickly, many aggressive tactics came out, and these nevertheless make every
single card in hand extremely important. Overall, Sid Ketchum was considered
to be the weakest character in the lot. His new ability now can be activated
more easily: theoretically he could regain one life point per turn, by
discarding the two cards he draws. This makes Sid a formidable opponent,
suited to resist to the most dangerous shootouts, while keeping (or slightly
increasing) his victory chances as the game prolongs.
6. Sid Ketchum的特殊能力改成「棄兩張牌補一格HP」
長期來看,Sid Ketchum 是一個很強的角色。他的能力讓玩家要在使用與否之間做抉擇
。由於遊戲進行速度可以很快,很多有侵略性的小技倆就出籠了,這讓手上的每一張牌
變得很重要。但整體來說,Sid Ketchum 是所有角色裡最弱的。現在他的新能力可以更
容易地被觸發:理論上他可以丟掉他抽的那兩張牌而補一格HP。這讓Sid 變成一個難以
對付的角色,能夠抵擋許多危險的攻擊,而能保住(或許些微增加)原先勝利的機會。
7. Some cards have a new name.
As a tribute to the almost-identical movie title, the beloved and merciless
Mistress turns into Cat Balou. This card was supposed to change anyway, as a
not accurate translation misled the players: the card was supposed to be
called Schoolmarm (that's what a Maestrina is).
Following the Appaloosa example, the Horse becomes a Mustang, and the Injuns!
revert to the original and more common Indians!
These changes are mainly due to the enhancement of the Wild West setting, as
well as some internationalisation reasons, too long and boring to explain.
7. 有些卡片有了新名字。
為了向一個幾乎同名的影片致敬,受人愛戴但無情的Mistress改成Cat Balou 。這張卡
片其實應該要改的,因為Mistress並不是原文一個很好的翻譯:應該要翻成Schoolmarm
(這才是原文Maestrina的意思)。
(譯者補充:schoolmarm意為女老師。像哈利波特裡的麥教授就是schoolmarm的最好例子)
跟著Appaloosa的例子,Horse改成了Mustang,而Injuns!則改成更通俗的Indians!。
這些改變只是為了加強遊戲效果,讓某些外國的朋友不用為了遊戲解釋那麼多。
