[問題] Win7 language problem
Please forgive me for using English. I can't type in Chinese on BBS.
That's the problem!!!
Summary:
1. Upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate (English)
2. Used Windows Update to download and install the Language Pack -
Traditional Chinese
3. Changed language display as instructed. Then the system appears in
Chinese.
4. Problem:
a. Notepad did not work with Chinese.
b. The Chinese characters I type in BBS become "??????."
c. When downloading/installing programs, the Chinese instructions
can't show. They become unreadable codes. So I have to guess
what is "next," "agree," "cancel," etc.
5. Called Microsoft. Solved problem 4.a, but not b and c.

I currently live in USA. They told me that to have my Windows in Chinese,
I had to buy the English Windows "Ultimate" and then install the language
pack. That's why I bought Windows Vista Ultimate (English) before and now
7 Ultimate (English). The language pack worked perfectly with Vista. No
problem with Chinese at all. But now it has lots of issues with 7.
The tech support guy only helped me with the Notepad problem, but he
blamed Problem b and c on the 3rd parties (program makers) and said it was
not Microsoft's responsibility. He wanted me to contact those 3rd parties
for the issues I had. He also said that Win 7 is very new and many 3rd-
party programs are not up to date.
That's B.S.
I am seeing so many people here using Win 7 on BBS just fine.
He also told me that the Chinese Win 7 that comes with new computers is
Chinese operating system, as it has never been in English. Mine is an
English operating system, with a Chinese language pack. He did not say
that is the cause of problem, but I wonder if that's the reason.
However, I can not afford to buy another "real" Chinese Win 7 to replace
my current "fake" Chinese Win 7. Can anyone help me make my Win 7 in
complete Chinese, instead of partial Chinese? Your help is greatly
appreciated!
