(那是該公司有始以來第一次指派女性擔任執行長。)
【 COO 】 chief operating officer (名)營運長
◎ Although he was the newly-elected COO of the company, Bill was bitter at
having lost the CEO position to Karen.
(雖然被選為新任的營運長，但是比爾對於在執行長之爭中敗給了凱倫心有不甘。)
【 CFO 】 chief financial officer (名)財務長
◎ My sister is the CFO of her company and she likes to joke that she plays
with money for a living.
(我姐姐是她們公司的財務長，她常開玩笑說她以玩錢為生。)
【 chairperson 】 (名)議長；主席；董事長
◎ If you have anything else you'd like to add to the meeting agenda, you
should probably talk to Ralph — he's the chairperson of our board.
(如果你想在議程中加入其他任何事項，你或許應該和洛夫談談，因為他是董事長。)
※ 大師提點 ※
為了尊重女性並避免尷尬與誤會，現今少用chairman 這個字；當然如果確知當事人
為女性，可用chairwoman，但是還是以chairperson 較為方便、妥當。另，董事會的
正式名稱為board of directors，其中的directors 指的是「董事」。
