或許簡單來說，可以這麼分
complex 側重在內在關係的複雜，須通過仔細研究與了解才能掌握和運用
complicated 與 complex 的含義相近，但語氣更強，著重極其複雜，
很難分析、分辨或解釋。
intricate 著重指錯綜複雜，令人迷惑理解。
補充：
sophisticated 側重指事物發展到或達到高級的程度所體現出的複雜。

由許多部分或困難的方式組成

‧a complex problem
‧The situation is more complex than you realize.
‧Her poetry is too complex [=complicated] for my taste.
3. grammar : consisting of a main clause and one or more additional clauses
‧a complex sentence [文法] 複合句
intricate
having many parts 有很多部分
‧ intricate machinery
‧ an intricate [=complex] design/pattern
‧ The movie has an intricate plot.
