原因很簡單，因為manner作為"方法"時，是可數名詞，所以原題選D的問題便出在沒冠詞
而解釋成習慣、習俗則是固定複數(P)要寫成manners
造個句子：(1)Copy a manner from the teacher before you have enough experience.
在你有足夠經驗以前，應該先複製老師的方法。
(2)Cultivate the manners required before you talk to the elders.
跟年長者講話前先培養好自己的禮貌。(*禮貌與習俗的用法拼字一樣)
