Some sentences do not belong in the summary because they express ideas that are not presented in the passage or are minor ideas in the passage. The Roman world drew its strength from several important sources. several 表示之後的三點 是條列三個sources ------------------------------------------ 解summary 唯一的捷徑就是把它看成完整的短文 給的第一句是Romans 但是Educated Romans 卻只是一部份的Romans 這個主詞本身的代表性就不對 Educated Romans 是原本第五段的 "例子" 如果主題句沒變成選項 通常例子不應該選在summary 中 --------------------------------------- 不過這位戰友已經做對了一半 他發現 第五段 和第六段是一個單位 在閱讀中 有些文章超過五六段 summary 卻只有三個選項ˋ 加上原本給的第一句 所以解題的單位是段落 甚至是多個段落 想想我上面舉的例子 Yet 轉折之後的內容才是重點 第五段說 religion and moral philosophy literature and language speculative philosophy and the sciences 都沒有超越 第六段說 但是並非一事無成 genius was projected into new spheres— especially into those of law, military organization, administration, and engineering. 這樣的兩段 要併成一個選項 就變成了 ○Rome combined aspects of ancient Greek civilization with its own contributions in new areas. 這個大意 只要能辨別 這句話並不能代表任何一整段落的內容 就知道 ○Educated Romans modeled their own literature and philosophy on the ancient Greeks. : 但下面這句 : "In speculative philosophy and the : sciences, the Romans made virtually no advance on early achievements" : 又否定了什麼嗎? 跟model literature on greeks 有何關係? just not sure : . : ○Rome combined aspects of ancient Greek civilization with its own : contributions in new areas. : ○Educated Romans modeled their own literature and philosophy on the ancient : Greeks. : TPO7 : Paragraph 5: Rome’s debt to Greece was enormous. The Romans adopted Greek : religion and moral philosophy. In literature, Greek writers were consciously : used as models by their Latin successors. It was absolutely accepted that an : educated Roman should be fluent in Greek. In speculative philosophy and the : sciences, the Romans made virtually no advance on early achievements. : Paragraph 6: Yet it would be wrong to suggest that Rome was somehow a junior : partner in Greco-Roman civilization. The Roman genius was projected into new : spheres—especially into those of law, military organization, administration, : and engineering. Moreover, the tensions that arose within the Roman state : produced literary and artistic sensibilities of the highest order. It was no : accident that many leading Roman soldiers and statesmen were writers of high : caliber.
