He had been given an invitation to join the team and try to earn a spot on the roster during training camp. McCants, however, is not healthy enough to take part in the workouts, so he is no longer with the team. However, there is a possiblitiy that the Rockets will revisit bringing McCants back at some point. McCants split time in 2008 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Sacramento Kings. He played his first three and a half years in the NBA with the Timberwolves.
