[新聞] Youkilis to miss Team USA's pool finale

First baseman Kevin Youkilis was scratched from Wednesday night's Pool 2
championship game against Venezuela due to a left ankle injury. Youkilis headed
back to Red Sox camp in Fort Myers rather than staying with the United States
team. His status for the remainder of the tournament is unclear, but it's
possible that he could be replaced on the USA roster for the semifinal and
final rounds of the tournament over the weekend at Dodger Stadium.
For the time being, Adam Dunn will serve as the United States' first baseman.
However, Dunn recently signed with the Washington Nationals as an outfielder,
so the American team would prefer to find another solution for the upcoming
rounds of the Classic.
In six games in the Classic thus far, Youkilis is 4-for-22 (.182), but he has
hit three home runs and drawn six walks for a .357 on-base percentage. He's
also considered an exemplary defender at first base.
He's just the latest United States player to encounter an injury in the
tournament, joining Ryan Braun, Dustin Pedroia, Chipper Jones and Matt
Lindstrom in the trainers' room.
