July 19, 2006 Beckett gets new deal By Gordon Edes, Globe Staff Terry Francona announced that Josh Beckett agreed to a three-year deal with the Red Sox. "I always wanted to stay here in front of these fans, in this stadium," said Beckett after the game. "It's a good deal." The extension is for three years, starting next season, plus a option year for 2010.
