Kevin Millar and John Olerud shared time at first for the Sox in 2005, but it's clear the Red Sox need an upgrade here. This position figures to be the one, above all others, that requires external addressing. What's available? Mostly aging 1B-DH-types, but if the Sox get creative they might be able to do better.
