Players put themselves in general manager Jon Daniels' : shoes. Prospects were being dealt. Some salaries were being deferred. A : division title was being clinched. : "I'm glad they want to win and they want to see us add to the club," Daniels : said. "Quite frankly, so do we. It has to be the right fit and the right : timing." : The Rangers have baseball's top-rated farm system, so surely the Blue Jays : would want to inquire about top prospects in any trade with the Rangers. : Daniels said that he doesn't like to use the word "untouchable" in regard to : a prospect's availability, but some would be difficult to pry away. Derek : Holland, Neftali Feliz, Justin Smoak and Martin Perez almost certainly fall : in that category. : Daniels is working under the assumption the Rangers won't be able to take on : much additional payroll, and they would have to inherit about $6.5 million of : Halladay's 2009 contract plus the $15.75 million he is owed for 2010. : "The questions are kind of funny at this time of year: 'Do you have interest : in this All-Star or that All-Star?' "Sometimes you feel tired, you : try to grind through it, and the next day you feel good.
