John Frusciante Explains His Departure from Red Hot Chili Peppers

The departure of John Frusciante from Red Hot Chili Peppers is nothing new.
It happened a year ago.
John Frusciante離開RHCP其實已經不是新聞了，因為一年前就成真了。
In a statement at MySpace today, Frusciante explained the old news.
Frusciante在MySpace上發了一篇聲明，解釋這件舊聞。
He said, “When I quit the band, over a year ago, we were on an indefinite
hiatus. There was no drama or anger involved, and the other guys were very
understanding. They are supportive of my doing whatever makes me happy and
that goes both ways”.
他說：「我在一年多前離開樂團，當時我們正在無限期的假期中。
整件事既不戲劇化，也沒有充滿憤怒，他們也很能理解我的作法。
他們支持我做任何讓我自己開心的事。」
“To put it simply, my musical interests have led me in a different
direction. Upon rejoining, and throughout my time in the band, I was very
excited about exploring the musical possibilities inherent in a rock band,
and doing so with those people in particular. A couple of years ago, I began
to feel that same excitement again, but this time it was about making a
different kind of music, alone, and being my own engineer”.
「簡單說就是，我的樂風已經走往另一個方向。
重新加入樂團的這些時間中，
對於可以在搖滾樂團中，與特別的人一起挖掘音樂的可能性，我一向感到很興奮。
幾年前，我又再次感受到了那種刺激，只是這次是對於創作不一樣的音樂。
一個人，做我自己的東西。」
“I really love the band and what we did. I understand and value that my work
with them means a lot to many people, but I have to follow my interests. For
me, art has never been something done out of a sense of duty. It is something
I do because it is really fun, exciting, and interesting. Over the last 12
years, I have changed, as a person and artist, to such a degree that to do
further work along the lines I did with the band would be to go against my
own nature. There was no choice involved in this decision. I simply have to
be what I am, and have to do what I must do”.
「我很愛這個團體以及我們所做的一切。
我明白我們共同創作的對大家極具價值，但我還是必須依從我的心意。
對我而言，藝術不是一種責任感。
而是讓我覺得好玩、刺激且有趣的事情。
經過這12年，我變了，身為一個人、一個藝術家，
要達到這個程度，我必須投入全部的心力，
繼續待在樂團裡將會違背我的天性。
這個決定沒有其他選擇，我純粹想要做我自己，以及做我必須去做的事。」
“Sending love and gratitude to you all”.
「我永遠愛你們，感激你們。」
Red Hot Chili Peppers will make their first post hiatus return on January 29,
2010 for the MusiCares event honouring Neil Young.
RHCP將在2010年1月29日Neil Young的紀念音樂會上做長休後的第一場演出。
我可以哭嗎......................................
我很明白John的心情，我也很能理解他的決定，
畢竟他的一直不願意當個ROCK STAR，
我的理智祝福他未來音樂事業開新、順利，
但我的心，真的哭了。
