[問題] 形容詞在名詞後面的狀況該如何解讀?

這是兩句高中指考英文模擬題本

and share some rather interesting stories of their lives pre- and post- exile."

"Customers visit cats in a/an seperate area,
where the felineslounge in beds shaped like cans of tuna
instead of in cages more typical of a shelter."
第1個問題:
想請問一下第一句最後面的
"their lives pre- and post- exile"是否可以改成
"their pre- and post- exile lives" 呢?
因為"pre- and post- exile"意思是 "放逐前後的"形容詞，這樣改是否合理呢?
另外想請問一下，這樣把形容詞放在名詞後面，是否可以直接解讀為"受詞補語"呢?
或是有甚麼其他更好的解讀嗎?請問有人可以在這邊替我文法分析一下嗎?
第2個問題:
第二句的的最後
"in cages more typical of a shelter."
是否可以改寫為"in a more typical of a shelter---cage"呢?
因為他也是拿來形容cages，所以原劇的寫法是否也可以解讀為"受詞補語"嗎?
或是有甚麼其他更好的解讀?希望可以指導一下這邊的閱讀盲點~

"They showed water droplets half the size of those present in clean clouds."
想請問一下：最後面的"present(出現)"為什麼可以直接使用現在式來表達呢?
如果改成現在分詞的"presenting"，以形容詞子句的省略寫法來呈現是否可以呢?
