It is exactly same content available in "Help menu" of Mathematica (you can get it by pressing F1 within Mathematica.)
Besides the "function pages" which list information about one symbal per page,
"How-to" topics

tend to answer many FAQ,
and tutorials
(http://www.wolfram.com/learningcenter/tutorialcollection/)
introduce topics with a good balance between depth and broadness.
The above should be sufficient for most beginers.
The most encyclopediac book on Mathematica AFAIK is Michael Trott's
The Mathematica GuideBooks
