還沒開學一個人在系上滿無聊的,再翻一個我覺得也滿有趣的經驗 What's your field? 化學工程（chemical engineering) 的“液體動態”（fluid mechanic）不知道對不對 What are the roles of conferences vs journals? 研討會通常是用來展示你的研究進展,然後並不算你的著作, 研討會只需要投你的研究大綱就好,當你的研究結束時候通常已經在好幾個研討會發表了 然後你會投到期刊去,不過前提是：你研究的贊助人允許！ 這個領域很實驗都會有所謂的“publicaiton hold" What's the paper submission / review process? 重要大型的研討會的審查不是blind,然後拒絕機率超高,研討會發表非常短 他們希望儘量讓每個人都可以有時間展現他們在研究什麼 期刊論文的審查是blind不過意義不大,因為大部份的研究都已經在研討會發表過許多次 研討會發表的期限通常是前六個月 What are the most prestigious publication venues? Conferences: AIChE Annual Meeting CSChE Annual Meeting Those are really the two main conferences for ChemE annually in North America. (通常是畢業就可找到工作還是要有博士後的經驗） : 大部份的新教職員工都有博士後經驗,不過跟別的領域有差不多的態度就是 : “如果你真的這麼強，你不會需要去找博士後工作” : Where does the money come from? （錢從哪來） : 作者是在美國唸書,所以大部份的經費是來自美國軍方跟情報機關還有ＮＳＦ, : 產業界也有些公司會贊助（微軟，ＧＯＯＧＬＥ 等） : What happens at conferences? （研討會通常在幹什麼） : 如果你被accepted 做一個口頭報告,你通常需要準備20分鐘的報告（需要準備ＰＰＴ） : 大部份的研討會ＳＵＢＭＩＳＳＩＯＮ都是被接受當海報（這也算是發表） : In multi-author papers, how is author order decided? （怎麼決定作者順序） : 第一作者是貢獻做多的,ＣＳ很好判定誰貢獻最多,雖然沒有通則，不過大部分是： : 1. 誰寫這個ＰＡＰＥＲ跟程式的會是第一作者 : 2. 誰supervise最多的會是最後一個作者 （所以很多指導教授通常是最後一個） : 3. 如果你是教授還沒拿到tenure的話,當越多“最後一個作者”越有利 : 大概就是這樣了,這個討論串還有很多不同領域的人分享,有機會可以看看 : 滿有趣的,希望對大家有幫助 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 209.147.144.3
