The government in Britain is pressing for internationally
agreed standards to regulate online gambling at a conference of 30
countries it’s hosting today. It says it wants measures to prevent
children and vulnerable people from getting involved, but not a full
ban on online gambling, as is the case in the United States.
Thousands of people have taken to the streets in Taipei, the
capital of Taiwan, in a call for President Chen Shui-bian to step
down. The protest follows a decision, by state prosecutors to charge
president’s wife and the presidential aides with corruption and
perjury in connection with the misappropriation of nearly half a

Almost two-third of Taiwanese teenagers say they want to learn
more about money management, but there’s no such instruction on schools. A survey done by City group has found while nearly 64 percent of
Taiwan’s teens want to learn more about how to manage money, only
3 percent receive help from schoolteachers and professors. National
Taiwan University professor Joyce Fang says the survey shows an
education program in financial literacy is much needed.
China and India have agreed to step up economic and diplomatic
cooperation significantly at talks in Delhi leaders of the two countries
set a target of doubling bilateral trade by 2010.
